This Privacy Policy explains what Will It Click? processes when you use our public thumbnail tool, AI-assisted analysis service, private Library, account features, and paid subscription.
1. Information We Process
Depending on the features you use, Will It Click? processes:
- Account data: your email address, display name, authentication records, policy versions, and account status.
- Public video research data: submitted YouTube URLs, video IDs, titles, channel names, publication dates, thumbnail URLs, and available thumbnail sizes.
- Private Library content: saved items, tags, and personal notes.
- Analysis data: input snapshots, AI-generated scores, observations, title suggestions, thumbnail-copy ideas, processing status, and error information.
- Usage and security data: quota records, request time, path and status, authentication-session IP address and user agent, rate-limit data, and security or error logs.
- Subscription data: Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, plan, price identifier, billing period, subscription status, and payment-event status. Will It Click? does not receive or store your full payment-card number.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use this information to authenticate users, fetch public video metadata, provide downloads and AI analysis, operate the private Library, enforce plan limits, process subscription billing, diagnose failures, prevent abuse, protect private resources, and maintain the service.
3. YouTube Metadata and AI Processing
Will It Click? reads publicly accessible YouTube page metadata and thumbnail images for the URL you submit. You do not need to connect a YouTube channel, and Will It Click? does not request permission to manage your channel.
For AI analysis, OpenAI is currently the primary AI provider, and Google Gemini may be used as a fallback. If a primary request fails, the corresponding analysis data may be processed sequentially by both AI providers.
The Vision stage may receive the public thumbnail image and video title. The Text stage may receive the video title, public channel name, publication date, a limited portion of the public YouTube description, public YouTube metadata tags, and the first-stage Vision observations to produce the final structured result.
Your email address, authentication data, personal notes, private Library tags, and private Library organization are not sent to either AI provider.
4. Cookies and Authentication
Will It Click? uses secure, HTTP-only cookies for signed-in sessions and a limited cookie for anonymous analysis access and abuse prevention. These cookies are necessary to provide authentication, protect private results, and apply usage limits. The current MVP does not load third-party advertising cookies or non-essential analytics cookies. If that changes, this policy and any required consent controls must be updated before those tools are enabled.
5. Payments
Stripe processes Checkout, recurring subscription billing, payment methods, and the customer billing portal. Will It Click? stores the identifiers and subscription state needed to grant the correct plan and reconcile Stripe webhook events. Payment-card details are collected and handled by Stripe, not Will It Click?.
6. Service Providers and Data Sharing
Will It Click? uses Cloudflare for frontend delivery and network services, a VPS hosting provider for the backend and self-hosted PostgreSQL database, OpenAI and Google Gemini for AI analysis, and Stripe for payments and subscriptions. We disclose data to these providers only as needed for their stated functions. We may also disclose information when required by law, to investigate abuse or security incidents, or to protect users and the service.
7. Data Retention
Account data and active Library content are retained while your account remains active. Anonymous access to an analysis expires after a limited period, currently seven days, although de-identified operational records may remain. Analysis results, quota entries, AI call metrics, request logs, and error records are retained as reasonably needed for service integrity, cost control, security, and troubleshooting. Subscription and payment-event records may be retained as required for financial reporting, disputes, fraud prevention, tax, and legal compliance.
8. Account Deletion
You must first cancel or resolve an active or pending Creator subscription. When account deletion succeeds, Will It Click? deletes the authentication user, sessions, and credentials; removes personal notes and tags; makes saved Library items inaccessible; and replaces identifying profile fields while marking the profile deleted. Access to private analyses ends. Analysis, usage, billing, fraud-prevention, and security records may remain in de-identified or minimally necessary form for service integrity, financial reporting, legal compliance, dispute resolution, and abuse prevention.
9. Security and International Processing
We use measures designed to protect data, including HTTPS in transit, cookie protections, scoped private-resource queries, access tokens for anonymous results, database constraints, rate limits, and database backups. No system can guarantee absolute security. Our servers and providers may process information in the United States and other countries where their infrastructure operates.
10. Your Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or obtain information about the processing of your personal data. You can update your display name, manage Library content, and request account deletion from Settings. Contact us if you cannot exercise an applicable right through the product.
11. Children's Privacy
Will It Click? is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If we learn that such information was collected, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
12. Policy Changes and Contact
We may update this policy by changing its version and effective date. For material changes, we may notify existing users or request renewed acknowledgment where appropriate. Privacy questions and applicable data-rights requests can be sent to support@willitclick.com.
